Christmas may be over, but there is always a need for adorable gifts! These sugar scrubs that I’m sharing today went into a gift basket that I gave to a family member on Christmas and they were a hit! Every single ingredient is something that is easily found in your pantry and the ingredients are so natural, you could eat the scrubs though I’d recommend you hold off. 🙂
The first scrub that I created is “Chocolate Covered Coffee Bean”. This scrub is a little more abrasive and it really works to remove dead skin. It also wakes up your senses and is the perfect scrub to use in the morning. Both scrubs fill up jars that are about twice the size of a normal baby food jar, to give you an idea on the amount. 🙂
Chocolate Covered Coffee Bean Scrub:
2 T. Coffee Grounds
1/4 C. Coconut Oil (melted)
3 T. White Sugar
1 t. Cocoa Powder
Mix together and pour into the jar. The scrub will harden the longer that it sits.
The next scrub I created is a “Chocolate Chip Cookie” scrub. This is a little more moisturizing thanks to the addition of oatmeal. It’s not nearly as abrasive as the coffee scrub, but still will give your winter skin a healthy glow!
Chocolate Chip Cookie Scrub:
2 T. Oatmeal (Old-fashioned rolled)
1/4 C. Coconut Oil (Melted)
1 t. Cocoa Powder
1/4 t. Vanilla
1/4 t. Butter Extract (Trust me, this makes the scrub smell like a cookie!)
1 t. Baking Soda
3 T. Brown Sugar
Combine all ingredients and pour into jar. This scrub will harden the longer it sits.
I tied a cute ribbon on mine to make it look more festive. 🙂 The scrubs consistency depends on the temperature that they’re stored at.
This is also a great way to use up that sugar that you’re trying to cut back on! 🙂
