*I was given this book in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts are my own*
If I could recommend one devotional for busy Mama’s, this would be it. Pressing Pause by Ruth Schwenk and Karen Ehman is more than just a quick devotional that you flip through each day, it’s a series of thoughts from ladies who get it. Ruth and Karen understand the good and bad of motherhood and they share their thoughts on how to live a Godly life in the midst of it.
This devotional is great for those of us who lead busy lives because it gives a deep, resounding word packed in a little paragraph. This devotional has encouraged, uplifted and at times, convicted me to the core. I’ve found it simple to take the few minutes each morning to read the Scripture the entry starts with and ponder the devotional message. Each devotional ends with a couple of questions that are meant to help you apply each lesson.
Not only is the outside of this book gorgeous, but the words inside are beautiful as well. Ruth and Karen cover things like connecting with your spouse, treating your children with grace and self-care. It almost feels as if you have older mentors having a cup of coffee with you!
This book would also make a lovely gift for a new Mama.
