When I was a teenager, I read this book called, “How to be a Hepburn in a Hilton World”. This book revolutionized my way of thinking as a teen and taught me a lot about living above status quo! I loved the author, Jordan Christy because she is from my hometown, so I felt like there was hope for me too! Haha! 😉
When I found out that Jordan was releasing an updated revision of her book, I contacted her publishing company to see if they would collab on a review with me. They said yes! This book is such a gem and is a must-read for women everywhere. Jordan’s writing style is so friendly and warm. She’s been there, has navigated girl world and has done it with integrity and class.
This book is about finding the courage to stand out from the pack. It’s about keeping your self-respect in a world where girls are too eager to throw it away. It gives great advice on social media etiquette, hard work, beauty, modest clothing, values, and more! Jordan explains things in a sisterly way, so you never feel as if she’s condescending. She gives positive examples of Hepburn-Esque behavior from modern day women and you won’t find a single negative thing pointed at any woman specifically. I loved that and thought it was a great way to promote unity in women.
The book itself is formatted in an interesting way. There are a bunch of lines to write your own answers and there are also a lot of unique bullet points and even a few recipes. As someone who likes unique formatting, this made my heart happy. I’d highly recommend this book to ANY woman of any age, but it makes an especially great gift for pre-teen and teen girls. I plan on giving my sisters a copy of this book! I don’t have a daughter (yet!) but if I do, I will study this book religiously with her.
All in all, an entertaining, delightful, much needed read!
